SummaryAs the Lead of Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonography, you will
play a vital role in overseeing and managing the daily operations
and clinical activities of the Pediatric Echocardiography Lab and
Fetal Cardiovascular Program. Reporting to the Manager of
Non-Invasive Laboratory, you will provide leadership, training, and
ensure adherence to quality assurance and control standards. In
addition, you will be responsible for managing equipment and
supplies, resolving conflicts, and maintaining accreditation
certifications for the labs.You will serve as a clinical resource
and role model for the Pediatric Echo and Fetal Labs, ensuring the
delivery of high-quality care. Training current and new staff on
echocardiogram and fetal echocardiogram procedures, along with
overseeing day-to-day operations and updating operational manuals
and procedures will be among your responsibilities. Your role will
also involve enforcing policies, monitoring productivity, and
solving clinical, program, and operational conflicts.Required
QualificationsMinimum of five to seven years of experience in a
hospital-based pediatric echo lab environmentAbility to perform
scanning responsibilities if assigned staff are
unavailableCompletion of an approved cardiac sonographer training
curriculum programCurrent registration as a cardiac sonographer
(RDCS) in Pediatrics through the American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing
International (CCI)Bachelor's degree in a related field or
equivalent experience/trainingDemonstrated knowledge of relevant
cardiovascular services and ability to apply principles in various
settingsProven supervisory skills in training and guiding
employees, along with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to
improve cardiovascular servicesDemonstrated ability to prioritize
effectively and meet deadlines in a complex, challenging
environmentAbility to organize staff and unit operations
efficiently and effectivelyStrong interpersonal skills to develop
and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff,
patients, and interdisciplinary team membersAbility to identify and
propose solutions to issues within defined procedures and policies
using critical thinkingExcellent verbal and written communication
skills to explain technical cardiovascular concepts, actively
listen, persuade, advise, and counselAdvanced knowledge of
organization's cardiovascular testing equipment and technology,
with the ability to troubleshoot issues and recommend
improvementsPreferred QualificationsMinimum of three years of
experience as a lead or supervisor in a pediatric cardiovascular
diagnostic laboratoryFamiliarity with billing procedures and
revenue management in a healthcare environmentCurrent registration
as a cardiac sonographer (RDCS) in Adults through the American
Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the
Cardiovascular Credentialing International
(CCI)License/CertificationCurrent registration as a cardiac
sonographer (RDCS) in Pediatrics through the American Registry of
Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular
Credentialing International (CCI)
